During the discussion on the future CAP policy, Mr Jerzy Zająkała, Mayor of Łubianka and European Alliance President said, that it is important to keep the current structure of the CAP ensuring funding for rural development; also noted that, too few resources are allocated to rural development under the second pillar and that they do not suffice to ensure the implementation of essential development projects. Agriculture and rural areas are closely interrelated. He opposed to any temptations to separate the second pillar from the CAP structure. Indeed, the current structure of the second pillar ensures that rural areas receive funding regardless of any ideas on cohesion and regional development policy.
